This fall, our Pollinator PowerWorks Haiku Contest took root — and the winning poem now lives on a brand-new sign along the Clipper City Rail Trail.
Nectar’s aroma
buzzing humming flitting wings
petal acrobats
— Paulette Demers Turco
Soon, in partnership with the River Valley Charter School Beekeeping Group, we will install their handcrafted hive box beside the sign — a unique, student-built project that looks like a real beehive but houses no bees. Instead, its panels open to reveal fun facts and insights about pollinators, inviting visitors to explore, learn, and connect with nature. Together, the garden, haiku sign, and hive box create a living space for art, education, and environmental stewardship.
Because of you, places like this exist — small, beautiful spaces where people can pause, notice, and reconnect with the living world.
With your help, we can keep growing.
Your donation will help us plant more native gardens, expand our Pollinator Toolkit, and bring pollinator habitats to more communities across our region.
Together, we’re creating something lasting — where words, wings, and wildflowers thrive side by side.
